This decreases the chance of your legit emails being marked as spam by tools as SpamAssassin. This plugin comes without any settings. When activated, it will automatically look for HTML emails being sent using the `wp_mail()` function and when necessary add the plain text version. In your WordPress admin panel, go to _Plugins > New Plugin_, search for _Add Plain Text Email_ and click “Install now” 2. Alternatively, download the plugin and upload the contents of `add-plain-text-email. zip` to your plugins directory, which usually is `/wp-content/plugins/`. 3. Activate the plugin. Your HTML emails will now automatically have a plain text version attached. 4. _(Optional)_ Test your new mail score using [http://mail-tester.com/](https://kir.wordpress.org/plugins/add-plain-text-email/mail-tester.com?output_format=md) ## FAQ.KG ### Why add a plain text version? No, the plugin does not affect the HTML message of emails. ### Will the people I send email to notice? No, 99% of all email clients will just show the HTML version of the email. The other 1% can’t properly display HTML and will show the plain text email. Without this plugin, they would have had nothing to show. ### Where can I check my SpamAssassin score? A lot of WP plugins send only HTML emails. This plugin saves us from having to change to another plugin to just send plain text emails along with HTML emails. It works perfectly with WP 6.3 and Icegram Express. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Even though it has not been updated for ages the code is super-simple so there’s no reason for it to require an update. Tested on WP version 4.9.6. Also works with the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send through Mailgun which was an unexpected bonus!
