homepage

HTTPS usage

search engine visibility

assigned and published WordPress privacy policy page

readable permalink structure

available WordPress core updates

available plugin and theme updates

publicly visible technical error output

When the plugin finds an issue, it links directly to the relevant WordPress setting. It never changes content or settings by itself.

The check runs only after an administrator deliberately clicks the check button. Results are stored exclusively in the website's own WordPress database. No check results are automatically sent to Seitenwacht.

The privacy policy page check only verifies whether WordPress has a published page assigned as its privacy policy page. It does not assess the page's content, legal completeness, or legal validity.

The plugin does not submit forms, click buttons, or replace continuous external monitoring. The separately available Seitenwacht service is a paid external monitoring service for businesses and agencies. It regularly checks websites and sends understandable notifications about confirmed problems. This service is optional and is not required for any local plugin feature.

Administrators with an active Seitenwacht package can explicitly connect this plugin to the matching website in their Seitenwacht account. After connecting, WordPress displays the current health score, monitored areas, and up to ten confirmed open issues for this website. The connection is read-only, limited to one website, and can be revoked at any time.

More information:

Seitenwacht plans: https://seitenwacht.de/preise/

Terms and conditions: https://seitenwacht.de/agb/

Privacy policy: https://seitenwacht.de/datenschutz/

External services

The local website check does not send check results to Seitenwacht or to any third-party analytics service.

For the availability check, the WordPress installation requests only its own public homepage. WordPress core, plugin, and theme update information is read from update data already stored by WordPress.

The plugin contains two clearly labelled links to external Seitenwacht pages:

Free public website check: https://app.seitenwacht.de/website-check

Seitenwacht plans: https://seitenwacht.de/preise/

These pages open only after an administrator deliberately clicks the corresponding link.
